Graduate Division Awards available after advancement to candidacy:
Dissertation Research Grant ($1,000 per student) - We encourage all graduate students to apply for a dissertation research grant at some point during their graduate program.
Dissertation Year Fellowships - Ph.D. students with good academic records can apply for a fellowship to cover all or part of their final academic year in graduate school. One criterion that may assist you in obtaining a Dissertation Year Fellowship is to apply for extramural funding early (i.e., during the first or second year) in your Ph.D. program by writing grants either on your own through programs such as NSF Dissertation Improvement Grants and EPA STAR Program or with your major professor.
