How to Apply to the Graduate Program
Graduate Student Application
The Department of Entomology awards these graduate degrees:
To apply for our graduate studies program, please complete an electronic application and submit the required supplemental documentation listed below:
To complete the electronic application, you will need the following items:
- Transcripts
- GRE scores (General Exam required of ALL applicants)
- TOEFL scores (Required of international applicants)
- Names and email addresses of people providing letters of recommendation on your behalf
- Your contact information
- Credit Card (Required
for application fee payment)
- The current application processing fees are $80 for Domestic and $100 for International applicants. If you are accepted into the Ph.D. program at UCR and attend, we will refund 100% of the application fee after you arrive and enroll.
- Applicant Statement of Purpose (submit online)
- Supplementary Fellowship Information Form – (Optional; Domestic applicants only; submit online)
- Official
GRE Score Report sent directly from Educational Testing Service to UCR (Scores must
be within 5 years of planned entry date)
- GRE Institution Code- R4839
- GRE Department Code-0209
- 3 Letters of Recommendation (may be submitted online or by hard copy)
- Official Transcripts (Hard copy must be sent to the address below)
- International Student Confidential Financial Statement (submit online, International Applicants Only)
- TOEFL Score
Report

only - Scores must be from exam taken within
2 years of the planned entry.)

Supplemental Documentation needed to complete your application:
Admission decisions cannot be granted until all required documentation is
received.
JANUARY 5, 2010: Priority deadline for
Fall admission and fellowship consideration.
